Footage shows domestic violence incident against former Dodgers pitcher Julio Urías

The California Highway Patrol has released footage that allegedly shows the domestic violence incident involving former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Julio Urías.

The video shows Urías running toward his wife, Daisy Perez, then grabbing her and shoving her into a fence outside a soccer stadium in Los Angeles, reports TMZ, which released the video.

Urías then apparently attempted to hit Perez after the person she was with and two passersby attempted to separate the couple. One of the passersby pushed Urías against the fence before several other people began to lead him away from his wife.

Urías pleaded not guilty to the charges related to the incident in May. According to ESPN, under the terms of his plea agreement, the pitcher agreed to three years of probation, 30 days of community service and a year-long domestic violence counseling course.

He must also comply with a restraining order, pay damages to his wife, pay a fee to the Domestic Violence Support Fund and is not allowed to own weapons or use violence, the broadcaster said.

Urías was charged with a second count of domestic violence in a relationship, as well as assault, spousal violence and false imprisonment. However, according to ESPN, the Los Angeles Superior Court dismissed those charges.

Police arrested Urías on September 3, and Major League Baseball announced three days later that it had placed him on leave pending an investigation into the allegations against him.

Los Angeles police also arrested him in 2019 on suspicion of “intimate partner violence.” He was involved in an altercation with a woman in a parking lot.

Urías' contract expired at the end of the 2023 season. He remained a free agent this year.
