21-year-old man arrested in connection with fatal shooting in Greeley

GREELEY, Colorado – A 21-year-old man was arrested Thursday afternoon in connection with a fatal overnight shooting in Greeley.

According to Greeley police, officers were dispatched to a home at 2700 C Street around 2:07 a.m. Thursday for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers performed life-saving measures on the man until emergency responders arrived. He was then taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to Greeley police.

The Weld County Coroner's Office will release the victim's identity at a later date.

The suspect ran away before police arrived, according to Greeley police. He was later identified as Haven Ramirez, 21.

According to Greeley police, investigators located Ramirez on Thursday afternoon and arrested him without incident. He was booked into the Weld County Jail where he was charged with first-degree murder and two counts of menacing.
