Parents of teenager accused of threatening schools in Ritenour District charged

ST. LOUIS, Missouri (First Alert 4) – The parents of a teenager accused of threatening schools in the Ritenour District and bringing a loaded gun onto campus face charges in connection with the incident.

Terry Thompson and Traci Thompson are charged in a criminal case with tampering with evidence.

The former Ritenour School District student allegedly planned to carry out shootings at two Ritenour schools – Ritenour High School and Husky Academy in Overland. He was arrested with a gun in the Husky Academy parking lot and police say his parents were present. Authorities allege the two adults then returned to Terry Thompson's home to clean up the crime scene and pack ammunition from earlier in the day into a bag.

According to authorities, Terry Thompson took the bag to Traci Thompson's house and asked her to take it with him because he thought she would stay out of trouble. Police said they later found the bag containing ammunition and magazines at Traci Thompson's home.

Bail is set at $250,000 cash for both parents.

The teenager is accused of first-degree terroristic threats, unlawful use of weapons and resisting law enforcement.
