Jake Paul could finally make his MMA debut in the near future.

In an interview with Sportskeeda, PFL CEO Peter Murray said that the YouTube star will enter the SmartCage sometime next year. Of course, that will be after his controversial boxing match against ageing legend Mike Tyson.

“Jake ends his boxing year with this big fight against Mike Tyson. Then there is a lot of planning in Jake Paul’s [PFL] Debut in 2025 and we will announce those details after Jake steps into the ring with Mike Tyson and we have finalized our schedule for next year's superfights.”

Next January will mark two years since Jake Paul signed with PFL. The 27-year-old signed his contract as part of the promotion's PPV Super Fight division.

“I have proven myself in and out of the boxing ring,” he said after the contract was announced. Since then, he has stepped into the ring five times and won four times.

Who will Jake Paul face in his PFL debut?

Jake Paul has been criticized for his choice of opponents throughout most of his 11-fight boxing career. Starting with another social media star, the Most Valuable Promotions founder has faced former MMA fighters, a former basketball player and two unknowns.

A fight with a struggling 58-year-old hasn't silenced any of his critics, and Murray says Paul plans to change that trend when he puts on the 4-ounce gloves.

“Jake is determined to face a very credible, versatile MMA fighter and [that’s] not easy to do. [It’s] It's not easy to go from boxing to MMA. You know, going from MMA or other disciplines to boxing is much easier.”

A volunteer is not very versatile but has a promotional history with “The Problem Child.” Tommy Fury, the only one who raised his hand against Paul, has promised to do the same in MMA.

“I'm going to beat him in boxing and in the cage. Big useless motherfucker,” he said in a recent YouTube video while training with UFC heavyweight belt holder Tom Aspinall. However, he believes it will take him up to two years to “get good at MMA” and “beat his face in.”

In February, ESPN reported that an offer had been made for a trilogy between the pair, including a boxing rematch and an MMA fight with Fury guaranteed at between $15 million and $20 million.

Paul will face Mike Tyson on November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The fight will be the main event and will air exclusively on Netflix.
