Man arrested for first-degree murder in connection with Greeley murder

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder following an early morning shooting in Greeley on Thursday.

Greeley police arrested Haven Ramirez Thursday afternoon after he fled the scene of a shooting at a home in the 2700 block of C Street, police said in a news release.

Police responded to a 911 call at 2:10 a.m. Thursday morning and found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Police treated the man and transported him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Later that day, detectives located Ramirez and took him into custody. He was booked into the Weld County Jail on suspicion of menacing in addition to the first-degree murder charge.

Police said the victim's identity will be released after the Weld County Coroner notifies family members.
