Autumn arrives on Sunday with cooler temperatures and rain next week

The trend of beautiful late summer days continues with highs in the 30s and plenty of sunshine this afternoon! Those heading to the Syracuse football game can expect temperatures in the 20s when the game is over.

Friday was also fantastic in the surrounding areas, with many areas in the southern hills seeing temperatures above 27 or 25 degrees, with no rain expected.

The next chance for showers and even thunderstorms will be in the western Finger Lakes on Saturday evening as a cold front attempts to reach the area.

Scattered showers may move into the central Finger Lakes during the evening, but most storms are expected to weaken and dissipate after sunset.

Note that next week's trend is in stark contrast to the last few weeks in Central New York. Cooler, fall-like temperatures with a daily chance of rain at least through Thursday. Enjoy the last days of summer while you still can!
