CT Weather: Showers end the week, fall conditions this weekend

CONNECTICUT – It looks like the sun will be largely absent for the next few days, but we don’t expect much rain either.

“Today is Connecticut Day at the Big E… while it may get cloudier here and there, we should make it through the day dry,” said WFSB 3 meteorologists. “With a low pressure system moving offshore, we'll likely get a few isolated showers this evening and tonight.”

“They will hold through tomorrow morning, after which we expect partial clearing. Another low pressure system is developing south of us and meandering offshore Friday as a high pressure system builds up from the Great Lakes (which will prevent it from moving further north),” said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. “How close it gets to CT will determine how much rain we could get. We could certainly use some of it as deficits continue to grow (we're currently at 2″ for the Hartford area). Temperatures will trend cooler by the end of the week.”

“Saturday and Sunday are expected to have below average temperatures, just in time for the change of season, as it will definitely feel like fall. Saturday should see at least some morning clouds clear, with highs around 70 degrees. Fall begins on Sunday with the fall equinox at 8:43 a.m. Although we will have plenty of sunshine, temperatures are unlikely to reach 70 degrees! For comparison, the normal high for September 22nd is 73 degrees in the Hartford area,” said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. (Read/watch more at WFSB 3 TV).
