At around 8:20 a.m. Thursday, Emory police declared a “police emergency” for Emory Point, a mixed-use retail and apartment complex adjacent to campus. Officials later said two employees got into an argument in the kitchen of an unspecified “Emory-affiliated service business” that led to the shooting.

No one was injured in the incident, according to Emory Police Chief Burt Buchtinec. The employee who allegedly fired the weapon left the building and is “no longer allowed on campus or in any other Emory facilities,” he added.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call Emory Police at 404-727-6111.
