Update on the arrest of defense attorney Tyler White Friday morning at the Hannibal courthouse

Hannibal, Missouri (KHQA) — Hannibal criminal defense attorney Tyler White was arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol at the Hannibal Courthouse this morning, September 20. KHQA is working for you to determine the reason for this arrest.

UPDATE: KHQA continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding Tyler White's arrest. The following is the information gathered as of Friday afternoon, September 20th at 2:30 p.m.:

September 2022 and May 2023: According to Adams County court records, White was charged twice with drunken driving in Adams County, Illinois.

September 13, 2024: White failed to appear for a pretrial hearing for a jury trial in Monroe County scheduled for September 25, which was canceled.

September 16, 2024: Judge Talley Smith enters a physical seizure order for White.

September 20, 2024: White was arrested on suspicion of being involved in an accident and leaving the scene of an accident in Shelby County. He is currently being held in the Shelby County Jail on a 24-hour warrant.
