Arrest made after 33-year-old pulls out gun in incident of aggression behind the wheel

WEST HARTFORD, Connecticut (WFSB) – A 33-year-old man was arrested after pulling out a gun during a road rage incident in West Hartford.

The incident occurred yesterday at 7:22 a.m. on I-84 westbound in the area of ​​exit 43.

According to state police, the victim said he was driving in the left of three lanes on I-84 when another driver in a Nissan Altima began to weave between lanes and eventually pulled in front of him.

According to police, the victim honked and the Nissan abruptly slammed on the brakes.

The victim then made a “hand gesture” toward the driver of the Nissan Altima, whereupon the driver pointed a gun at her through the driver’s side window.

The victim stated that the police reduced their speed to avoid an escalation, but the driver gestured to them to park their vehicle next to his.

The victim continued to slow down and called 911.

When meeting with police, the victim gave them the description of the suspect vehicle, the license plate number and a description of the driver.

Based on this information, the suspect was identified as 33-year-old Kewon Rondell Bank of Manchester.

The police contacted Banks, who agreed to meet with the police.

According to police testimony, Banks admitted to pulling out a gun during the incident, but said he only did so because he thought the victim was reaching for something.

Banks was arrested and charged with uttering threats and breach of the peace.

He was released on $5,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court next month.
