Naples: The miracle repeats itself, the blood of San Gennaro dissolves

The miracle of the liquefaction of the blood of San Gennaro was repeated. At 10:01 a.m. in the cathedral, which was crowded despite the rain, the Archbishop Don Mimmo Battaglia announced that the blood of San Gennaro had become liquid.

Gennaro was a Roman bishop and Christian martyr, venerated as a saint by the Catholic Church, which celebrates his cult on September 19, and by the Orthodox Church. He was the main patron of Naples, in whose cathedral lie some bones of his skeleton, together with two ampoules which, according to popular tradition, contain his blood. His figure has historically been the object of worship and folklore.

There are people who believe that the phenomenon of Dissolution of bloodritually represented on September 19th and December 16th, is considered a miracle bringer and lucky charm.
