Student hospitalized after school bus accident in Lexington County

LEXINGTON, SC — Authorities said a student was hospitalized following an accident involving a school bus in Lexington County Friday afternoon.

Lexington police reported the crash in the area of ​​Gibson Road and Elm Street around 3:15 a.m., adding that one lane was temporarily closed. A spokesman for the Lexington One School District said the bus was transporting students from Lexington Elementary School when the accident occurred.

The district said one student was in pain after the crash and was taken to the hospital at the request of a parent. No other injuries were reported, and police announced after about an hour that the road was clear and all parents and guardians of students on the bus had been notified of the accident.
