Estranged husband of victim accused of murder in Dodge County death investigation

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – The estranged husband of a missing Dodge County woman whose death was later investigated has been arrested and faces murder charges, authorities said Friday.

Zachariah Rasch is charged with first-degree intentional murder using a domestic violence device and concealing a corpse.

The 43-year-old was arrested in July after several unauthorized transactions were made using Crystal Rasch's bank card. A criminal complaint alleged that Zachariah Rasch was responsible for the transactions and that they were made without her permission.

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office reported in June that it was looking for 37-year-old Crystal Rasch of rural Clyman. Sheriff Dale Schmidt said she was last seen in public on June 11 and was reported missing on June 23.

Sheriff Schmidt stated in July that the investigation into her disappearance was now being classified as a death investigation. To protect the integrity of the investigation, no further details were being released, the sheriff said at the time.
