Parents arrested, charged with grievous bodily harm to 2- and 4-year-old

MACON, Georgia – The Bibb County Sheriff's Office has arrested two people in West Macon in connection with the aggravated assault investigation involving a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old, a news release said.

The press release states that officers arrested the children's father, Kyle Rogers, 30, shortly after arriving Thursday morning. The children's mother, Dajanae Jones, 26, was taken into custody on Friday.

The press release said officers arrived at a home in Del Park around 10 a.m. Thursday to check on the welfare of the two children.

When they arrived, they found the two children, ages two and four, with injuries. According to the press release, paramedics took the children to a hospital for treatment. Hospital staff said the two-year-old was in stable but critical condition. They added that the four-year-old's condition was stable.

The father was charged with two counts of first-degree child abuse, three counts of terroristic threatening, aggravated assault and battery. The mother was also charged with two counts of first-degree child abuse.

Additionally, there were warrants out for their arrest from the Sandy Springs Police Department and the Dekalb County Sheriff's Office. Both warrants were served. Both parents are being held without bail.
