Man seriously injured in WaveRunner accident on Fox River in Cary: Officials

CARY, Illinois. – A man was seriously injured in a WaveRunner accident in suburban Cary on Friday afternoon.

The Cary Fire Protection District was called to a water rescue at 4:08 p.m. after receiving reports that a WaveRunner had collided with a private boat dock on the Fox River near the 2500 block of Grove Lane.

Initial reports indicated that the male driver was lying unconscious in the water after the accident.

When emergency responders arrived, the man was found conscious near shore. He was removed from the water and taken by ambulance to the helipad at Mercyhealth Hospital – Crystal Lake, officials said.

He was then flown by helicopter to Advocate Condell Medical Center.

Further details of the collision have not yet been released and the investigation is ongoing.
