Never too early: Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater books first show next summer

Next summer starts early: Party-rock country singer Thomas Rhett announced Monday that he will be at the Northwell at the Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh on July 12, with opening acts Tucker Wetmore and Dasha.

This may be the earliest concert announcement for next summer's shows in the Wantagh venue's history. In fact, there are still three shows scheduled this month and next: Staind and Breaking Benjamin (September 19), Post Malone (September 29) and Anderson.Paak (October 11).

General tickets for Rhett go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. on ThomasRhett.com. Rhett's Better with Boots Tour begins June 5 in Rogers, Arkansas, and ends September 26 in Ridgefield, Washington.

Rhett last performed on Long Island on July 22, 2023, when his “Home Team Tour” came to Elmont’s UBS Arena.

“So excited to announce the 2025 BETTER IN BOOTS TOUR!!,” Rhett, 34, son of country singer Rhett Akins, wrote on Instagram. “Can't wait to hit the road next summer with @tuckerwetmore, @thecastellows and @dashamusic!” he added, mentioning sister trio The Castellows, who will open for Dasha on dates she's not on.

“Oh man, this is going to be a party,” Wetmore commented on the post.

Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Rhett first hit the Billboard Country Airplay chart in 2015 with two No. 1 singles, “Crash and Burn” and the Grammy-nominated Best Country Song, “Die a Happy Man.” Since then, he has amassed 18 more Country Airplay chart-toppers, with two songs also reaching No. 1 on the main Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

He recently released his seventh studio album, “About a Woman,” a tribute to his wife, childhood friend Lauren Gregory Akins, with whom he has four children.

The five-time Grammy nominee was a guest singer in the finale of this year's 25th season of NBC's singing competition “The Voice” and served as an advisor to Kelly Clarkson's team in the 15th season.

His recent country hits include “Angels Don't Always Have Wings” and “Half of Me” (with Riley Green). In 2020, Rhett and Carrie Underwood became the first joint winners of the Entertainer of the Year award in the more than half-century history of the Academy of Country Music Awards.
