Tulsa police arrest suspected serial rapist | News

TULSA, Oklahoma – Tulsa police arrested a suspected serial rapist Friday morning.

According to police, Christopher Rogers raped at least three women at gunpoint and is accused of sexually assaulting two children.

He is accused of raping at least three women in the past two years.

All three victims were reportedly on foot when the suspect offered them a ride.

TPD Lt. Darin Ehrenrich of the Special Victims Unit said the woman from the first report was picked up near Admiral and Sheridan in 2022.

Then, in April 2024, the second woman was picked up near 31st and Sheridan.

The third case occurred earlier this month on September 14. The woman was arrested near 11th and Memorial Streets.

Ehrenrich said Rogers' approach was identical in all three cases.

“They stopped, picked up passersby and pulled out a firearm. They were forced to remove their clothes and the encounter subsequently resulted in a rape,” Ehrenrich said.

FOX23 obtained the affidavit. It is six pages long and very graphic. FOX23 has chosen not to reveal all the details about the victims, but it appears that the rapes became more brutal over time.

Ehrenrich said they submitted a sex crimes test kit in the 2022 case.

“We got a hit for Christopher Rogers at the Texas Department of Corrections,” Ehrenrich said.

However, the affidavit states that the case ultimately fizzled out because the victim stopped showing up for meetings with investigators.

As for the case from earlier this year, the affidavit states that police also found a DNA match for Rogers in the sex offender testing kit, but the results did not come back until late August.

Ehrenrich said that in the most recent case, video surveillance helped facilitate the investigation into the other two rapes.

Using this DNA evidence as well as the description of the suspect and the vehicle, they were able to link the three cases.

Ehrenrich said that while there have been problems with victims' long-term cooperation with investigators, the department is able to pursue evidence-based prosecutions.

“We presented these cases to the district attorney's office and they filed three counts of rape against Rogers,” Ehrenrich said.

Ehrenrich said during their investigation they discovered that Rogers was also linked to a 2022 sexual abuse case involving two children he knew.

It is unclear why this case was not pursued further, but based on the new evidence in the rape cases, police are now filing sexual abuse charges against the children in that case as well.

Rogers is being held on $200,000 bail on three counts of rape and two counts of molestation.

FOX23 found that he is a felon in Texas, having been convicted of burglary and weapons possession.
