Wayland police and fire department seek information after hit-and-run accident on Route 30

WAYLAND – Police Chief Ed Burman and Fire Chief Neil McPherson are asking for the public’s help following a hit-and-run crash Friday night in Wayland.

Emergency crews received a 911 call at 6:59 p.m. on Friday, September 20, reporting that a 72-year-old woman had been hit on Route 30. According to a preliminary investigation, the woman appeared to be crossing Route 30 at the intersection with Old Tavern Road when she was struck.

The driver did not stay at the scene.

The woman was in critical condition when she was taken to a Boston hospital. There is no information on her current condition.

Police are looking for witnesses to the incident or footage that may have been taken in the area of ​​Route 30 and Old Tavern Road.

Investigators believe that a dark-colored sedan may have been involved in the accident and that the sedan may have front-end damage.
