A man named Darnell Davis candidly talked about the time Harry Styles complimented him on his outfit.

The “Watermelon Sugar” singer knows good fashion when he sees it, but ironically, Davis didn’t recognize Styles when he noticed him.

Davis, a fashionista with over 3,800 followers on Instagram, said he had to ask the Grammy winner who he was after Styles came up to him and said, “I like your cut.”

Alongside a carousel of images from that momentous moment, Davis explained how he was walking through Regents Park in London when the “As It Was” singer approached him.

“I like your cut,” Styles said to Davis, who wore a multicolored two-piece set with an abstract print, an orange fedora and long pearl necklaces. “Thanks, bro, you look cool too,” said the touched passerby.

Although he was honored by the compliment, Davis had no idea that the man he was speaking to was the former One Direction heartthrob and current Grammy-winning solo artist.

He continued: “We get chatting when suddenly a woman comes up to us and asks for a photo. I'm flattered (obviously they were a perfect fit), but she points to my new boyfriend and says, 'No, I mean with him!'”

To his surprise, his duties as a “part-time photographer” didn’t end there. A group of fans rushed over and asked Davis to take photos of them with Styles, too.

“I'm like, 'Okay, who is this guy?' So I lean over and whisper, 'Who are you?'” Davis wrote. And even when Styles said his name, Davis still had no idea who he was.

Davis said he had to Google the singer. “Not only did I find out that he's insanely famous,” Davis noted, “but he was born on February 1st – the same day as my mother. What a cosmic twist!

“Moral of the story: stay open to the universe, appreciate every encounter, and always be kind – you never know when you'll meet a global pop star (even if you don't recognize them),” Davis concluded his Sept. 16 post.

Online fans flocked to Davis' comments section to express their admiration for the sweet story.

“What a sweet story!! The way he's smiling, he must have really enjoyed your company,” said a friendly onlooker, pointing to the photo of him and Style.

Another added: “Amazing story! Thank you for sharing it with us! He is the best!”

This isn't the first time the “Steal My Girl” singer's name has been mentioned this week. Up until now, Styles has stayed out of the public eye and worked on his next album after wrapping up his Love On Tour show schedule last year. But on September 13, Styles stepped out for the SS Daley runway show for London Fashion Week.

The artist was pictured front row next to Anna Wintour, marking his first appearance at Fashion Week in 10 years.
