Back to the test cricket After 635 days, Rishabh Pant marked his return with a record-breaking century that now puts him on a par with former Indian national team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
With a two-for against Shakib Al Hasan, Pant completed his sixth Test century, the same as Dhoni, and became the joint record holder for most centuries by an Indian wicketkeeper-batsman.

Pant continued his knock at 12 not out in India's second innings on Saturday, reaching the milestone in 124 balls. But looking for quick runs after reaching the three-figure mark, Pant returned to the pavilion (109) – caught and bowled by Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
This also ended Pant's 162-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Shubman Gill, who was batting on 88 when Pant retired.

Left-hander Pant, who had a horrific car accident in December 2022, hit 13 fours and 4 sixes in his innings.
The partnership extended India's lead to a massive 461 runs after Rohit Sharma opted not to enforce the follow-on to Bangladesh's 149 runs – orchestrated by Jasprit Bumrah's four-wicket haul.

India scored 376 in the first innings, thanks to their star all-rounders Ravichandran Ashwin with 113 and Ravindra Jajdea with 86.
