Police in East Haven and Branford pursue suspect after purse theft

EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Police from East Haven and Branford joined forces Friday to arrest a suspect who allegedly stole a person’s purse at a Stop and Shop.

Branford Police: 3 people arrested for kidnapping and torture

The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle that was also reported stolen, police said. Officers pursued the car on Interstate 95 from Exit 53 until they decided to call off the pursuit because the suspect was driving dangerously fast.

According to police, the car collided with another car on West Main Street before the pursuit and also fled the scene of the accident.
