Lizards love the Singapore Grand Prix

Lizards are no strangers to the Singapore GP, Fernando Alonso accused of killing one of the creatures last year during FP1.

The Spaniard appeared to splash the poor creature as he entered Turn 9, but that did not deter his cold-blooded comrades, who continued to hijack practice last year.

Max Verstappen also had to deal with the annoying lizards and gave them the nicknames “Godzilla” and “Godzilla Jr.” because they fortunately escaped the tragic fate of their friend.

Alonso was the first to notice his former arch-enemy and complained about the lizard stomping around in the middle of the track.

“We were told the trail was clear, but we should just keep an eye out for the lizard,” said the AstonMartin said the team over the team radio.

“No, it’s in the middle of the track,” Alonso replied.

Sky Sports' Ted Kravitz seemed more impressed by the lizard's cheeky manner as it danced boldly across the path.

“It looks like it's dancing 'floss' – some kind of dance,” Kravitz noted.

The lizard was eventually rescued and FP3 continued, but there is a risk of further reptile encounters over the weekend.
