Man injured in car crash in Nelson County, North Dakota – Grand Forks Herald

GRAND FORKS – A man was seriously injured in a car crash in northeastern North Dakota.

The accident occurred on Friday, September 20, at approximately 4:20 p.m. on 100th Avenue Northeast, 2 miles north of Tolna, a small town in Nelson County about 80 miles west of Grand Forks.

The driver, a 66-year-old man from Walhalla whose name has not been released, was driving a 2011 Chevy Suburban north on 100th Avenue.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, “for an unknown reason, the vehicle was driven across the center line into oncoming traffic before leaving a driveway and coming to rest in the west ditch heading northeast.” The driver was not wearing a seatbelt, according to NDHP.

The driver was taken to Devils Lake Hospital by McVille Ambulance.

The accident remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
