Aston Villa 3:1 Wolves: Goals from Ollie Watkins, Ezri Konsa and Jhon Duran give the hosts a dramatic win

For the first time since 2003/04, Wolves have lost two league games in a row against Villa.

A win over one of their arch rivals could have been the push they needed to turn their form around.

Gary O'Neil's side have managed just one win and eleven defeats in their last 15 Premier League games – their worst run in more than two years.

However, Given the games against Chelsea, Arsenal and Newcastle, it is safe to say that their first games were particularly tough.

Their only point of the season came away to Nottingham Forest, while they were knocked out of the EFL Cup by Brighton during the week.

Frustratingly for Wolves, they dominated their opponents for 70 minutes and won the ball back through high pressure – a tactic that earned them their first goal.

Cunha still had work to do as he intercepted the ball just outside Villa's penalty area, but his shot, which went in off the near post, was flawless.

Just before half-time, Wolves almost scored a second goal, but Rayan Ait-Nouri's close-range shot bounced just wide of Carlos' calf.

But in the end, the guests had to pay for their missed opportunities.

Meanwhile, defender Yerson Mosquera had to be stretchered off the pitch in the second half due to a knee injury.

In their next Premier League game next Saturday, they continue their difficult run at home against Liverpool.
