Three people hospitalized after motorcycle accident

MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) – Three people were hospitalized after a car-motorcycle collision in Midland early Saturday morning.

According to a press release, Midland police were called to the intersection of Thomas Street and Midkiff Road on the west side of Midland around 10:20 a.m.

According to MPD, a 2005 Harley Davidson was traveling north in the inside lane of the 100 block of North Midkiff Road and a white 2019 Kia SUV was traveling south in the center turn lane of North Midkiff Road.

According to MPD, the Kia failed to yield the motorcycle's right of way, causing the Harley Davidson to strike the Kia, which in turn struck a westbound vehicle parked at a stop sign in the 3200 block of Thomas.

According to authorities, the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

MPD also reports that the driver and passenger of the KIA were transported for minor injuries.

According to the police report, no charges have been filed and the investigation is still ongoing.
