Jason and Mason Taylor get an incredible segment on ESPN's SEC Nation

One of the coolest things we see in college and professional sports is when the son of a former athlete hits the big stage. It was great when we saw the Griffeys guarding the outfield in Seattle, Deion coaching his sons in Colorado being a decent human being, and the Mannings dominating the headlines in their college and NFL careers.

We have one of those cases on the LSU football team, as Mason Taylor was a key part of the LSU football team, just as his father Jason was in the NFL and in Akron for many years. This morning on ESPN's SEC Nation, they reflected on how Mason went from being a three-year-old in Jason Taylor's segment on the day of his life to being one of the best tight ends in the country.

It was great to hear from Jason Taylor about Mason's incredible play as a freshman against Alabama, when the Tigers surprised the Tide in overtime with a two-point conversion for Mason. We also got a great look at what happened before that play, as the Tigers knew they were going to use the freshman and Malik Nabers encouraged him before the play.

The post gave us an incredible insight into the bond between Mason and Jason, particularly the support Jason gives his son and how proud he is of Mason. The next step in Mason's journey to follow in Jason's footsteps is being drafted into the NFL, and it would be incredible if the Dolphins chose a tight end.
