IDF eliminates Hamas terrorists who held dead hostages

IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari informed the families on Saturday about the six hostages who were murdered in captivity by Hamas last month and that the terrorists who held them captive were eliminated by Israeli forces.

The hostages they killed were Almog Sarousi, Carmel Gat, Alex Lubanov, Uri Danino, Eden Yerushalmi and Hersh Goldberg-Polin.

Hagari said that the day after the hostages were killed, “troops from the 162nd Division identified two terrorists who emerged from an underground tunnel shaft in the Tel al-Sultan area and eliminated them in a skirmish.”

Methods for finding the terrorists responsible

Based on DNA evidence, the Israeli forces were able to determine that the six hostages were being held by the two terrorists, who were then linked to the tunnel in which the hostages were murdered.

“Based on the intelligence and information available to us, the terrorists killed are the same terrorists who were in the tunnel where the bodies of the six hostages were discovered,” Hagari continued. “Intelligence shows that they were there when they were murdered and we are investigating their involvement in the murder. Should we receive further information, we will first inform the families and then the public.”

Hagari concluded his speech by saying that the Israeli forces “will pursue and reach everyone responsible for this heinous murder, and we will not stop until we reach them all.”
