Kentucky man charged with drug trafficking after officers find meth and marijuana

LEDBETTER, Ky. (KFVS) – A Livingston County man has been charged after he was found in possession of several baggies of methamphetamine and marijuana.

According to the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, on Thursday, September 19, at 5 p.m., Deputy Caleb Kindred and Chief Deputy Devin Brewer responded to calls to 161 Golden Meadow Drive in Ledbetter, Kentucky to serve a probation violation warrant on William Dale Dixon of Shepherdsville, Kentucky.

Officers saw Dixon standing on the property next to a white Buick SUV with the door open and arrested him without incident. While arresting Dixon, officers smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

The vehicle was searched on suspicion of possession. Officers found a black ziplock bag containing five individual baggies of methamphetamine totaling 143.84 grams, two syringes, a small baggie containing more methamphetamine, a baggie containing 8.56 grams of marijuana, and a cell phone.

Officers also discovered and seized $1,240 in cash from Dixon. The cash is believed to be proceeds from the trafficking of methamphetamine.

The charges against Dixon include probation violation, trafficking in more than two grams of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
