Flathead County investigates road rage incident

The Flathead County Sheriff's Department is investigating a road rage incident that occurred Saturday after the driver of a red passenger vehicle north of Kalispell allegedly pointed a gun at another driver.

The dispatch center received several calls about the incident around 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon, Sheriff's Department Cpl. Charles Pesola told NBC Montana. One call said the red vehicle rear-ended a white vehicle and forced it off the road. The driver of the red vehicle is said to have pulled out a gun during the incident and then fled the scene.

The affected area is on US Highway 93 near Silverbrook Drive, Pelosa said. An investigation into assault with a deadly weapon is ongoing. The driver of the red car has not yet been identified.

Pelosa said he has viewed some video footage of the incident, but no further information is available at this time.
