Arch Manning makes first start for Texas: Live game updates, stats, highlights, where to watch star QB vs. ULM

Texas quarterback Arch Manning overcame an early interception and put together a strong first half, giving the Longhorns a 28-3 halftime lead over ULM in the redshirt freshman's first start in a Texas jersey.

Manning threw an interception on his first drive, but responded with a 58-yard pass to receiver Isaiah Bond that set up a touchdown run by Jaydon Blue. He later threw a 17-yard touchdown to fellow freshman Ryan Wingo on an outbreak route in the end zone.

The final tally for Manning in the first half was solid: 11 of 21 passing for 214 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. He ran comfortably down the field and threw some passes into tight windows. Of course, Steve Sarkisian's offense helps, but Manning, rated as the No. 1 recruit in the class of 2023, looks like a future star.
