Chloë Sevigny just wore the fall jacket trend that editors can't get enough of

Oversized leather bomber jackets were everywhere last fall, with celebrities like Hailey Bieber and Emily Ratajkowski trying out the trend. But Chloë Sevigny isn't just following a trend—she's setting new ones.

Take, for example, her latest red carpet appearance at the Los Angeles premiere of her latest project, Netflix' Monsters. Instead of styling a bomber jacket in a conventional way, she opted for a unique piece by Phoebe Philo that revamped the classic outerwear into a puffy mini dress.

Made from buttery soft burgundy leather, the piece featured a turtleneck, large pockets on the chest, a center zip closure and a row of loose ruffles below the waist. Although the original version of the jacket included trousers, Sevigny foregoes trousers altogether and simply opted for square-toed leather ballet flats.

For added charm, she completed the look with statement earrings: large, round silver pendants.

Sevigny recently spoke to Harper’s Bazaarin which she reflected on the impact of her viral New York closet sale in May 2023.

“I think everything I've acquired, I bought and loved in my own way. It felt good. I've held onto those clothes for so long,” she said. “A lot of the stuff I've sold was from the '90s and early 2000s, and it was like an albatross, and I still have too much stuff. I just wonder, 'Why do I always have so much stuff? Why do I always want to acquire new things to feel good, to go out, to feel hot, whatever? Why do clothes have this power over me?' And I still wrestle with that every day. So I'm always trying to get rid of them and have less. … I'm happy when other people enjoy those things and don't just have them lying around in my storage room.”
