The dispute between King Charles and Prince Andrew takes a new, surprising turn

King Charles III, who was not happy about Prince Andrew's infamous interview, reportedly kept his distance to teach the Duke a lesson for his past mistakes.

Emily Maitlis recently confirmed that the 75-year-old had expressed his anger at Andrews News evening Interview about his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.

Charles responded by saying: “The comment left me speechless.”

Former BBC A news anchor explained in an interview: “For Prince Andrew, everything changed out of respect. He lost his royal duties. He lost the opportunity to wear a uniform. He lost respect.”

Now the relationship between the King and Prince Andrew has taken a surprising turn when the 64-year-old moved into the 30-room Royal Lodge on the Windsor Park estate.

The royal is reportedly keen to end his private funding for the estate's security and relocate Andrew to smaller accommodation. Last year it emerged that the 64-year-old was struggling to meet the £400,000 annual maintenance costs of the £30 million estate.

Andrew, who has lived in the house for around 20 years, signed a 75-year lease on the property in 2003. This means that the King has no legal means to evict the Duke from the house.

Charlotte Griffiths from the Post on Sunday has recently hinted at an unexpected peacemaker between Charles and Andrew. Living in the same royal residence,

Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York and ex-wife of Andrew, could play a crucial role in bridging the gap between the feuding brothers.

Charlotte says it would be natural for Fergie and her daughters to side with “Team Andrew” in any royal skirmishes.

She said: “It is in their interests that he keeps this very magnificent house because, firstly, Fergie lives there and, secondly, there are reports that the girls may one day inherit it or take over their lease on it, so they may want to keep it in the York family.”

She believes the Duchess could help end the dispute between the two brothers, explaining: “She actually has a relationship with Charles now that is getting better and stronger, so she could be something of a mediator.”
