Dartmouth man charged with murder in New Bedford stabbing

A Dartmouth man is facing murder charges after a stabbing death on Atlantic Street in New Bedford, the Bristol County District Attorney's Office said. Tyler Dow Baglini, 31, was taken into custody shortly after the incident Friday afternoon, authorities said. The Bristol County District Attorney's Office said Baglini was being held at Saint Luke's Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. Baglini is scheduled to be arraigned on murder charges in New Bedford District Court Monday morning. The victim, identified as 31-year-old Kerri Fidalgo of New Bedford, was found with apparent stab wounds when New Bedford police responded to a report of a stabbing attack at 86 Atlantic Street around 4:52 p.m. Friday. Fidalgo, who lived in an apartment at that address, was taken to Saint Luke's Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, authorities said. Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney's Office are investigating the incident along with New Bedford Police and Homicide Detectives.
