Two dead, one seriously injured in early morning car crash in New Hampshire – Boston 25 News

NEW IPSWICH, NH — Two people were killed and another seriously injured in a two-car crash in New Hampshire early Saturday morning, state police said.

New Hampshire State Police troopers responded to the intersection of Turkpike Road and Temple Road in New Ipswich shortly after midnight Saturday for a reported crash. An initial investigation revealed that a 1996 Honda Del Sol driven by 21-year-old Devin Lundgren of New Ipswich collided with a 2015 Dodge Ram while attempting to make a turn.

Lundgren and his passenger, James Barna, 18, of Sharon, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Dodge Ram, Samuel Wheeler, 36, of Greenville, was flown by rescue helicopter to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester to receive treatment for serious injuries, state police said.

State police say speed may have played a factor, but officials are still investigating the accident.

Anyone who witnessed the accident or has additional information that may assist in the investigation is asked to contact Trooper Isaiah Acquaye at [email protected] or (603) 223-4381.
