Osage Beach couple who fled Florida receive probation for drug charges in Camden County – News/Talk KRMS

An Osage Beach couple who were taken into custody on one count of aggravated drug offense and two counts each of drug-related endangerment of the welfare of a child have been sentenced to supervised probation as part of a plea agreement.

At the time of their arrest in April, Nikolas Harris and Helen Harris were alleged to be fugitives from child abuse and drug charges in Escambia County, Florida.

The U.S. Marshals Service joined the search for the Harris brothers as far as Missouri, to their Osage Beach residence, where glass pipes, methamphetamine and sex toys were allegedly discovered in the child's bedroom.

The suspended sentence is five years, and the drug charges will be expunged from their records if the probation is successfully completed. While the Harrises were being sentenced on Thursday, authorities in Missouri and Florida were working together to place the children in an undisclosed location.
