4 dead, dozens injured in mass shooting in US state of Alabama

At least four people were killed and several others injured in a mass shooting in the US state of Alabama on Saturday evening.

The shooting occurred on Saturday around 11 p.m. (local time) in the Five Points South neighborhood in the greater Birmingham area of ​​the US state of Alabama. ABC News reported.

The area is close to the University of Alabama and is a popular meeting place with numerous restaurants and bars.

Birmingham police and fire departments are on scene and investigations are ongoing. Police believe multiple shooters were involved in the incident. CNN reported.

Officers saw two men and a woman who were unresponsive due to gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene. CNN reported. Another person died in hospital.
