20-year-old man arrested for murder and manslaughter in Maine

A 20-year-old man was arrested on charges of murder, manslaughter and weapons possession after a 22-year-old man was shot and killed in Waterville.

Charged with murder and manslaughter

Tyler Quirion of Waterville was charged Thursday in the fatal shooting of Justin Iraola on Feb. 19, 2024, on Grove Street.

Murder investigation

The Waterville Police Department and the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit took him into custody after an extensive investigation.

Killing on death penalty

Iraola died from numerous gunshot wounds. After an autopsy, the coroner classified his death as homicide.

Taken to jail and no bail

Quirion was taken to the Kennebec County Jail and held without bail.
