Matt LeBlanc's co-stars from “Friends” are concerned about Matthew Perry's “withdrawn” behavior and “unkempt” appearance almost a year after his death

Matt LeBlanc's co-stars from “Friends” are worried about him as the anniversary of the death of their beloved colleague Matthew Perry draws closer.

Since Perry's tragic death in October 2023, LeBlanc, 57, has rarely been seen in public due to his grief, and his recent appearance is said to have caused unrest among his friends.

He was spotted in Los Angeles earlier this month and his disheveled appearance caused his co-stars “concern,” a source told In Touch Weekly after seeing photos of him obtained by TMZ.

“Nobody is body shaming Matt or accusing him of any inappropriate lifestyle. That's not what this is about,” the insider clarified.

“What is worrying, however, for Jen [Aniston] and the whole Central Perk crew is that he's been such a hermit lately and they barely hear from him from one month to the next,” the source said.

“He has kept in touch since Matthew Perry's tragic death,” the insider said.

“But other than that, he's just in his element, doing his own thing, with no real interest in socializing,” the source continued.

“It’s just sad for everyone to see,” the source adds.

The insider said of LeBlanc's significant change: “He used to be such an optimistic, happy guy, but now it's like he somehow doesn't feel worthy of her company.”

The source added: “His self-esteem has clearly taken a hit and you only have to look at the guy to see that he's letting himself go physically too.”

However, the source assured that LeBlanc continues to have the unwavering support of his friends.

“Matthew. It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye. The time we spent together was honestly some of the best times of my life,” he wrote on November 14, 2023, alongside a series of stills from their scenes in the sitcom.

“It was an honor to share the stage with you and call you my friend,” he wrote. “I will always smile when I think of you and I will never forget you. Ever.”

LeBlanc wrote: “Spread your wings and fly brother, you are finally free. Love you all.”

He ended his tribute with one last joke between him and his close friend. “And I guess you keep the $20 you owe me.”
