Man arrested for hiding in his backyard swimming pool

Only eight percent of American households have a swimming pool – either in-ground or above ground – in their backyard, so it's safe to assume that the majority of us are among the number of people who don't have a pool in our backyard.

Even families who have never owned a pool know that most are used for swimming or family fun. However, for one Florida man, swimming was clearly prohibited in his backyard pool.

Man arrested for hiding in his backyard swimming pool

A man in Marion County, Florida — southeast of Gainesville, northwest of Orlando — was at home when he heard a knock on his door. When he went to answer the knock, two uniformed officers stood outside his door and asked him some pretty specific questions.

Apparently the officers were Marion County Wildlife Department employees who had received a tip that the property owner was keeping two huge alligators in his backyard pool.

The man initially denied the allegations, but soon admitted that there were indeed alligators in his pool.

Officers then went to his backyard, where they also found a large, recently killed alligator and many illegally caught slider turtles.

The man was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of alligators, one count of illegal hunting and one count of illegal hunting of slider turtles.

Don't expect this guy to be working in the seafood department of your local grocery store any time soon.

Imagine dipping your toes in the pool at your uncle's backyard pool party and when you take your feet out, a few fingers are missing thanks to his hungry pet.

This has Tiger King is written everywhere.
