5 injured in 3 stabbings within 3 hours in Philadelphia: Police

Philadelphia police are investigating several stabbings that occurred overnight from Saturday to Sunday.

Incident No. 1

At around 11:28 p.m., officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the 6600 block of Gillespie Street in North Philadelphia.

When officers arrived, they found that a 22-year-old woman had suffered a stab wound to her left hand and a 23-year-old woman had suffered a stab wound to her right hand.

Both victims were taken by paramedics to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where their condition is currently stable.

No arrests were made and no weapons were seized.

Incident No. 2

Shortly after the incident in North Philadelphia, another stabbing occurred in Philadelphia's Point Breeze neighborhood, according to police.

The incident occurred around 12:02 a.m. at a residence in the 1400 block of South Mole Street.

According to police, a 38-year-old man suffered four stab wounds to his back. He was taken by paramedics to Jefferson Center City Hospital, where he was treated and listed in stable condition.

A 28-year-old man was also stabbed once in the right shoulder and once in the back. He was taken by police to Jefferson Center City Hospital, where he was also listed in stable condition.

When securing the crime scene, officers found a knife that was presumably the murder weapon. Both people are being held in police custody as part of the ongoing investigation.

Incident No. 3

Just hours later, police said a woman was stabbed to death during a robbery in Philadelphia's Kensington neighborhood.

At 2:08 a.m., a 43-year-old woman was stabbed once in the right side of her torso during a robbery in the 3500 block of Kensington Avenue, police said.

Paramedics took the victim to Temple University Hospital, where her condition was listed as serious.

No crime scene was found, no arrests were made and no weapons were seized in connection with the incident.
