Pickens County officials arrest man for drug trafficking after short chase

PICKENS COUNTY, SC (FOX Carolina) – The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man for drug trafficking after a short chase.

Officials report that on July 15, a vehicle was observed ignoring a stop sign and traveling at a high rate of speed through the Liberty area.

The driver did not respond to the officer's flashing lights and a short chase ensued before the suspect was caught, officials said.

Officers said they arrested Donald Trammell and found 700 grams of suspected methamphetamine and over 20 grams of suspected fentanyl.

Trammell is being held without bail at the Pickens County Detention Center. He is facing several charges, including:

  • Trafficking in methamphetamine over 400 grams
  • Trafficking in methamphetamine 28-100 grams 2nd offense
  • Trafficking in methamphetamine 10-28 grams 2nd offense
  • Trafficking in Fentanyl 14-28 grams
  • Failure to stop at blue lights, 2nd offense
  • reckless driving
  • Driving with a driving ban
  • simple possession of marijuana
