Marion County Sheriff's Office plans prescription drug take-back day

COLUMBIA, Mississippi (WDAM) – The Marion County Sheriff's Office is hosting the Drug Enforcement Agency's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on the last Saturday in October.

On October 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., county residents can drop off expired/unneeded/unwanted pills, capsules, patches and other solid forms of prescription medications for disposal at the MCSO office on Broad Street in Columbia.

Liquids such as cough syrup are also accepted. However, residents are asked to keep such products in their original packaging and close them tightly to prevent leakage.

Items such as syringes, needles, sharp objects and illegal drugs will not be accepted, the MCSO said.
