I-5 North near Everett closed due to police operation

EVERETT, Washington. – All northbound lanes on I-5 near Broadway in Everett are closed, causing traffic jams more than three miles long.

Cars can be seen turning around on the highway north of 77th Street as police cordon off the area.

The closure was imposed due to a fatal incident reported by Everett Police on Sunday afternoon. At this time, it is believed that there is no immediate threat.

WSDOT advises riders to expect additional delays as this closure adds to already busy travel days due to events and other closures in the area.
