Quavo is sued and accused of stealing his song “Bubble Gum”

Quavo is riding high following the release of his latest single, which includes a sample from Lenny Kravitz, but a new lawsuit has reportedly gotten in the way of the “Himothy” rapper's celebrations.

Accordingly TMZQuavo is being sued for copyright infringement over his 2018 song “Bubble Gum.” In court documents obtained by the outlet, underground rapper L.Mont (real name Lamount London) accuses Quavo of stealing his song of the same name.

L.Mont claimed that he was DJing as the official opener for a concert by Migos (Quavo's former group) and 2 Chainz on February 6, 2016, and passed around a CD containing the song in question. He then said he was shocked to hear Quavo's version, which he said contains elements of the lyrics, arrangement and melody from his record.

Although the song was released two years after their alleged encounter at the Saenger Theater in New Orleans, L.Mont argued that the similarities were undeniable. After years of watching the song grow in popularity, L.Mont is taking action to get paid for his alleged creative influence. L.Mont is seeking financial damages in an undisclosed amount.

On the other hand, online users have started criticizing L.Mont's case as opportunistic as it doesn't match Quavo's successes in the slightest. Listen to both songs below. Quavo has yet to make a public response to the lawsuit.
