Deer Park police arrest two Chicago teens accused of stealing brand new iPhone 16s, GPS tracked them to different locations

DEER PARK, Texas (KTRK) – Two Chicago-area teenagers were arrested for their suspected involvement in several stolen packages containing brand new iPhone 16s in the Deer Park neighborhood, police said.

David Dye and Iyanna Perry, 17, were arrested after receiving multiple calls on Saturday, September 20, regarding packages that had been stolen earlier that day.

The affected residents saw two suspects and a vehicle on their Ring cameras, which the officers tracked using Flock license plate readers.

Officials said the vehicle, which matched the one seen on surveillance video, was located and seen circling in a nearby residential area. Officers then stopped the car and arrested both teens.

Further investigations revealed that the teenagers had flown out of Chicago on Friday and allegedly stole packages containing AT's new iPhone models.&T customers. Investigators found that the couple may have planned to stay in the area until the following Friday.

How the two obtained the information about the postal route remains unclear.

The rental car's GPS showed that they spent a lot of time in Katy, Fort Bend County, La Porte and Deer Park.

It has not yet been officially announced whether charges will be filed.

Police are asking any victims of package theft in these areas to contact their local police station.
