Which players are on Sunday Night Football and which are not?

Kansas City Chiefs fans were wondering one question in particular this week about the team's active (or inactive) players for Week 3: Will Kareem Hunt be available or not?

The big topic for the Chiefs this week was activity at the running back position for Kansas City after starter Isiah Pacheco left the field in the fourth quarter of Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals with what was later revealed to be a fractured fibula. Since then, the Chiefs have been working on their backfield in hopes of putting together a healthy and capable group to face the Falcons in Week 3.

Pacheco was placed on the injured list to free up a roster spot, and the Rutgers product is expected to miss 6-8 weeks (and maybe longer). In his place, the Chiefs promoted Keaontay Ingram from the practice squad, who has been with the team since mid-November of last season. The Chiefs will lean on Carson Steele and Samaje Perine to help carry the load while Ingram is on the reserve.

Hunt also signed with the Chiefs this week as a free agent who knows Arrowhead Stadium very well, having played for the team for nearly two seasons in 2017-18. He spent the last five years with the Browns after being released by KC due to an assault and subsequent lies about the incident, but the trust issues have seemingly been repaired, as the Chiefs have now welcomed him back.

Still, Hunt knows he will remain on the practice squad for now, as Reid stated before the game that he would keep Hunt out of any immediate action for the Chiefs.

As for actual inactive players, Hunt won't be on the roster, but that's because a player has to be on the active roster to be unavailable or partially available on game day. We can look back a week for a clue as to who might be on the roster, but that list held no surprises for fans. Every Chiefs entry was a backup player who likely wouldn't play at all — two on offense (CJ Hanson, Ethan Driskell) and two on defense (Cam Thomas, Marlon Tuipulotu).

The Falcons made some changes to the squad shortly before Monday Night Football in Week 2 to deal with injuries. Their final list of inactive players included a familiar face to Chiefs fans in cornerback Antonio Hamilton. He was out along with OT Brandon Parker, DL Brandon Dorlus, RB Jase McClellan, DL Ruke Orhorhoro and OL Jovaughn Gwyn.

Now that the inactive elements are officially out, let's take a look:
