Man arrested for murder of Iowan in Minnesota

An Ames man was killed in a “targeted and executed” attack in St. Paul, Minnesota, according to authorities.Police say 22-year-old Kueth Chuol Ngut will be charged with two counts of premeditated murder after 32-year-old Lul Dak Chak of Ames was found behind a St. Paul apartment complex Tuesday night. Investigators say Chak was shot nine times and died at the scene.The criminal complaint shows police found surveillance video showing a car driving near the scene about 20 minutes before the shooting. Police say the car was registered to Ngut's girlfriend.Investigators say they found a gun in Ngut's apartment that matched the shell casings found at the shooting scene. SAINT PAUL, Minn. —

An Ames man was killed in a “targeted and executed” attack in St. Paul, Minnesota, authorities said.

Kueth Chuol Ngut, 22, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder after Lul Dak Chak, 32, of Ames, was found behind a St. Paul apartment complex Tuesday night, according to police. Investigators say Chak was shot nine times and died at the scene.

The criminal complaint states that police found surveillance video showing a car driving near the crime scene about 20 minutes before the shooting. Police say the car was registered to Ngut's girlfriend.

Investigators said they found a firearm in Ngut's apartment that matched the size of the cartridge cases found at the shooting scene.

Ngut is in jail without bail.
