New York Mets troll Philadelphia Phillies' Kody Clemens and his father Roger Clemens

More than two decades ago, a heated argument broke out between Mike Piazza and Roger Clemens.

The New York Mets catcher was always the better player for the New York Yankees until Clemens finally hit Piazza in the head with a pitch. When the two faced off again in the 2000 World Series, Piazza's bat broke as he blocked a pitch from Clemens.

Inexplicably, Clemens caught a piece of bat and threw it to Piazza as he trotted down the first base line.

Their direct rivalry has faded over the years, although it has remained in the minds of fans. The Mets, for example, certainly haven't forgotten that.

Clemens' son, Kody Clemens, is now an all-around talent for the Philadelphia Phillies, who faced the Mets on Thursday. As the younger Clemens entered the game as a pinch-hitter to strike out first, the video board at Citi Field showed an interesting fun fact about how his father fared against one of their most famous legends.

“Mike Piazza had a batting average of .421 against his father,” it said.
