2 people stabbed at Visalia Rescue Mission, 1 arrested

VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Two men were stabbed and another was arrested at the Visalia Rescue Mission Saturday night, Visalia police said.

Police said they were called to an incident at the Visalia Rescue Mission around 5 p.m. where a stabbing had been reported.

When officers arrived, they reported seeing two men with stab wounds. The suspect was identified as 60-year-old Claudio Banderas and was arrested at the scene.

Investigators say the two victims and Bandera were taken to a local hospital. One victim remains in critical condition.

Investigators expect Banderas to be arrested after his release from the hospital on suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
