I get emotional when I talk about it because it's an example of how far we've come and it's an example of how lucky I and we are to be living at this moment in our evolution.

And that's all the more reason why we must defend our rights and fight for our right to continue to live full lives, not lives defined by what a certain faction of the political landscape of this country would have us believe – and that's the one thing that, for whatever reason, instills a fear in them that they cannot comprehend.
